The Edu Tutors, Inc (referred to herein as "Site", "PeerTutors.com", “WiseGuy”, "WiseGuy.com", "our", "us" or "we") is committed to safeguarding the privacy of your information. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, transmit, and store information about our users. Providing your information is voluntary and your use of the site after the effective date of this document constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. wiseguy.com and peertutors.com are registered DBA in Texas Secretary of State.

Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Provider Terms of Service and User Terms of Service, accessible at https://peertutors.com/legal/tos.

Information We Collect

In order to help you get the most out of our service, we collect user submitted personally identifiable information when you use the site. We ask site users to submit information in order to use our service. Such information includes, but is not limited to, your name, password, email address, mobile number, birthday, sex, and payment related information. We also collect other non-identifying information that you provide as part of your use of the Site and Services, which includes but is not limited to your school, graduation year, grade point average (GPA), academic major, and personal descriptions. For Providers, we may collect your Social Security number (SSN) or Federal Employer Identification number (FEIN) for tax purposes. Information may be submitted to the PeerTutors.com website or via phone or email when communicating with a PeerTutors.com representative.

We may allow you to register to join the Service as a User or Provider by logging into your account with certain third party social networking sites (“SNS”) (including, but not limited, to Facebook) via our Site. When you register by logging into an SNS via our Site, we may obtain the personal information you have provided to the SNS (such as your “real” name, profile picture, email address, list of SNS friends and other information you make available via the applicable SNS) from the account you have with such SNS and use that information to create your account; the information we obtain may depend on the privacy settings you have with the SNS. If you choose to register as a User to use the Services, you may also register to create an account directly via the Site without logging into an SNS. We may allow you to log into our Site using sign-in services such as Facebook Connect or an Open ID provider. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form. Services like Facebook Connect give you the option to post information about your activities on this Site to your profile page to share with others within your network.

We do not collect any information that is not necessary to provide and improve our Site, Services, features and content (together, the "Services") and to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate the Site. As detailed in the "Data Transmission and Storage" section below, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption on any page of the site where we ask you to submit personally identifiable information and encrypt all such information for safe storage in our system. We also gather data that includes things like the referring URL and the type of browser you may be using to access the site. This data is used to better understand and enhance the user experience on the site.

Data Transmission and Storage

PeerTutors.com is committed to keeping your information private and secure. We use industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption when collecting and transmitting your information through the system. Once information has been collected, we encrypt sensitive data in our database for added security. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Financial Information

If you elect to pay for Sessions with a credit or debit card, we will collect your name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, card verification value (CVV), and billing address associated with the account. If you are a Provider and elect to provide your bank account information for Direct Deposit payments we may ask for your name, account number, routing number, and account type. We do not store any sensitive financial information. All sensitive financial data is stored securely and encrypted by a 3rd party payment provider in full compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Use of Cookies

PeerTutors.com uses cookies to help create a better user experience. A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your browser from a web server and may be stored on your computer’s hard drive. PeerTutors.com uses cookies to better customize your experience on the site based on user attributes like your location and account preferences. No personally identifiable information is stored in our cookies. While you may elect to disable or delete cookies from your browser at any time, please note that this action may limit your use of PeerTutors.com services that require cookies.

Information Sharing

PeerTutors.com shares information between Providers and Users in order to facilitate the arrangement of Sessions. PeerTutors.com does not disclose or sell your personally identifiable information without your consent. We reserve the right to release non-personally identifiable information collected in aggregate, however.

Phishing

Identity theft and the practice currently known as "phishing" are of great concern to PeerTutors.com. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a top priority. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information, login information, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. Invite a Friend

If you choose to invite a friend to use the Site and Services, we may collect the email address of such friend for the purpose of sending a one-time email invitation to use the Site and Services. We will not use the email address for any other purposes. Your friend may request that we delete his or her email address from our records by contacting us at support@peertutors.com.

Social Media Widgets

Our Site may include Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Site. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Minors

PeerTutors.com does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide your contact information or any other personally identifiable information to PeerTutors.com. If you are the parent or legal guardian of someone under the age of 18 who may have provided us with information without your knowledge or consent, please contact us to have this information removed at support@peertutors.com.

Legal Requests and Business Transfers

PeerTutors.com may disclose personal information when we believe such action is necessary to comply with the law or enforce or apply our User Terms of Service or Provider Terms of Service. In the event of a change in control of PeerTutors.com’s business, personal information may be exchanged as part of a merger, sale, or other business transfer. If such a transfer makes a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you of any changes.

Your Choices

Please remember to help keep the site secure by never sharing your personal information such as e-mail, phone number, username, or password. If you think your password may have been compromised, please change it immediately or contact us at support@peertutors.com for additional assistance.

PeerTutors.com may send you email communications periodically detailing new features or promotions on the site. You may unsubscribe from these messages by using the link at the bottom of the email. We may also send you email messages about the status of your account or any notices as required by law. You may not opt-out of receiving these administrative emails so long as you continue to use this voluntary service. If you wish to terminate your account, please contact us at support@peertutors.com.

Privacy Policy Changes

PeerTutors.com reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy, from time to time, due to modifications to the site’s Services. We will post any material changes 7 days prior to the effective date and indicate the new effective date of the Privacy Policy at the top of the document. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy for any updates while you are an active user of the site.
